About CalcToolVault
CalcToolVault is a collection of 119 free calculators covering the areas where a small arithmetic error turns into a large amount of money: property, retirement, taxes, health, vehicles, building materials, IT infrastructure, and pay.
The goal is not just to return a number. Most online calculators give you a single figure and no way to check it. Every tool here shows the full breakdown — which inputs were used, what each line contributes, and how sensitive the answer is to the assumptions — along with a plain-language explanation of what it means for the decision you are actually making.
How the calculators are built
Each calculator implements a published, verifiable formula rather than an approximation. Loan and mortgage tools use standard amortization. Tax tools apply the current IRS brackets, standard deduction, and FICA thresholds for the 2025 tax year. Health tools use Mifflin-St Jeor for basal metabolic rate, the US Navy circumference method for body composition, Riegel’s formula for race time prediction, and the Karvonen method for heart rate zones. Networking tools follow the relevant RFCs for IPv4 and IPv6 addressing.
Where a rule of thumb is used instead of an exact standard — construction waste allowances, cloud discount percentages, vehicle depreciation curves — it is stated explicitly in the notes so you can substitute your own figure.
How the calculators run
Every calculation runs in your browser. The formulas are JavaScript that executes on your machine, so results appear as you type and your inputs are not sent to a server for processing.
